This article guides you through the setup process. <strong>P.S.<\/strong> I have tested with <strong>Canon iR ADV<\/strong> <strong>3520i<\/strong>, <strong>3720i<\/strong> and <strong>3822i<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-124a83c835136099eae45fad3059103f\" style=\"color:#a36989\">Step 1: Prepare Your Gmail Account<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Create a separate Gmail account for setting up the printer(s). Now, please proceed with the following instructions below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Enable Less Secure Apps<\/strong>: Gmail blocks less secure apps by default. To allow your Canon printer to send emails, you need to enable access:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to your<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/myaccount.google.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Google Account settings<\/a><\/strong> and ensure you are logged in with the correct Gmail account. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Navigate to the <a href=\"https:\/\/myaccount.google.com\/security\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Security<\/strong><\/a> section<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please scroll down to <strong>Less Secure App Access<\/strong> and turn it on. (Ex: 192.168.92.100)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Open the Web Browser<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enter the printer\u2019s IP address into the address bar of a web browser on your computer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-a00ae1931c2a5451940389eb634375b7\" style=\"color:#a36989\">Step 4: Set Up Scan to Email<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Login to the Printer\u2019s Web Interface<\/strong>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use the default admin credentials (if required)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Navigate to Email Settings<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to <strong>Settings\/Registration<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under <strong>Function Settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Send<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on <strong>E-Mail\/I-Fax Settings or Network Settings &#8211; E-Mail\/I-Fax Settings that appear<\/strong> depending on the printer model<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Configure SMTP Server<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Set the <strong>SMTP Server Address<\/strong> to <code>smtp.gmail.com<\/code><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set the <strong>SMTP Port Number <\/strong>or<strong> SMTP TX<\/strong> to <code>587<\/code><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enable <strong>Use\/Allow TLS <\/strong>for<strong> SMTP<\/strong> or <strong>SMTP<\/strong> <strong>TX<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enable <strong>Use\/Allow SMTP <\/strong>for<strong> Authentication (SMTP AUTH<\/strong>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Enter Authentication Information<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Set the <strong>Email Address<\/strong> of your newly created Gmail address<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter the <strong>SMTP Auth Username<\/strong> (your full Gmail address)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter the <strong>SMTP Auth Password<\/strong> (the app password generated or your regular Gmail password if less secure apps are enabled)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Important Note<\/strong>: Please remove all the gaps between the generated password before using it<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Now check the connection. If everything is okay then it will show a message something like: &#8220;<strong>Connection to the server was successful<\/strong>&#8220;.
